The selection of images are all related to the conventions of a thriller film. The blood splattered image and gun (prop) represent the violence that commonly occurs in most thriller films. For example in the movie ‘Saw’ the torturing of the victims is what drives the movie on. Violence in a thriller is usually caused and inflicted by the antagonist. The antagonist in thriller films is frequently shown to be mentally unstable or insane. For this example the image of the man with his face covered in blood smiling is the main character form the thriller ‘American psycho’. Other similar thrillers that include an ‘insane’ antagonist is ‘Silence of the lambs’. The images in the third row of the hands tied in rope and the female being stalked are commonly used in thriller films if a character has been kidnapped, example of a thriller which plot revolves around it is Taken. It's most common for females in thrillers to be the target. The stereotype in thrillers is that females are the weaker gender either being the target or in rare cases seeking revenge (I spit on your grave). The image of the dead body is the symbol that there is likely to be death involved in the thriller. The image of the unknown figure represents the mystery of the antagonist in thriller films. The identity of the villain is commonly revealed at the end of the movie with clues throughout the films to bring the pieces together. Police/ detectives (relating to the image of the police car) are usually apart of the plot into uncovering the villain plot. The final image is of the fire flames which is the representation of the distraction caused in thriller films. (The mood board was created on the Mobil app Photo Quilt)

[code type=codetype] The collection of images show the idea in which we have drafted for our thriller film. When creating this mood board we first considered the conventions of a thriller film and produced a thriller film mood board with a collection of pictures that represents the genre thriller. The image of the forest is important to the idea that our character will end up isolated, making it more intense. The image besides the forest of the Static is how we in vision the editing style of some of our clips. This effect is valuable in creating a sense that something is distorted or the sense they are being watched. The two middle images of London/ night club is where we want to start the opening showing a starting location and a personal insight into the characters life. The extreme close up shot of the eye gave us inspiration of another why we can project the emotion of the character. The image of the female being followed is what our theme is based around, we want our opening to have a female character (reason being they are represented as being vulnerable) to be followed and the taken.[/code]

This is the first draft of our logo. The name "2:AM" was drafted upon the name of us, Alex, Anna and Millie, 2 initials begin with the letter "A" and 1 initial beginning with the letter "M"therefore forming "2AM". We have used the font of an alarm clock to associate with the name 2:AM in terms of the time. using the bright colour green it draws the eye and makes our logo stand out. Overall I believe that our logo concept is a good representation of our company and the participants within it.

Welcome to 2:AM Productions. We are a team of A Level Media students. (From left to right) We have Anna, Millie J and Alex. For our media course we are creating the first two minutes of a thriller film and will be documenting the planning progress and the steps towards making the start of our thriller film. We are excited and enthusiastic to start the progress and our excitement and passion for the progress will be shown through each post on the blog. We hope to learn skill of a filmmaker and develop our skills of an editor while creating our blog.
